Alex Iwobi And Kelechi Iheanacho Named Players Of The Year For Their Clubs

Super Eagles player, Alex Iwobi who joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019, had a breakout season in 2022-2023 and was named Everton FC Players “Player” of the season award for the recently concluded season.

The award as voted for by Players of the Merseyside club was won by the Nigerian midfielder who was ever present as Everton survived the drop.

Iwobi was also the clubs most creative player scoring twice and assisting eight others to guide the club to top-flight safety.

This is the first time the Super Eagles midfielder has won the Everton FC Players Player of the year award since joining the club in 2019.

Also, Kelechi Iheanacho was named Leicester City’s best player of the 2022/23 season.

Iheanacho scored eight goals for the Foxes in all competitions over the course of the past season, He scored 5 goals in Premier League and also assisted his teammates 5 times.

The Nigeria international scored the decisive goals in wins over Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s the first time Iheanacho will be winning the award.

Leicester City were relegated from the Premier League following a dismal campaign. He bagged an assist in the club’s 2-1 win against West Ham United last weekend.
