8 Unique Facts About The Late Nollywood Actor, Saint Obi (1965 – 2023)

  1. He was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, but grew up in Jos, Plateau State.
  2. He was a graduate of Theatre Arts at the University of Jos.
  3. Saint Obi completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Makurdi, Benue State, were he served alongside famous comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka.
  4. He was the seventh child and only son in a family comprising eight daughters.
  5. In 2001, Obi proudly produced his debut movie, Take Me To Maama, and eventually released it in 2003, to critical acclaim.
  6. The thespian stood six feet, two inches tall, was born on November 16, 1965 and hails from Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State.
  7. He did a major TV commercial for Peugeot on NTA and became full Nollywood actor in 1996 starring in over 60 movies to include “Goodbye Tomorrow”, “Sakobi” & “Executive Crime”.
  8. The amazing actor was a good footballer and played at the division three level as a goalkeeper for years, while in Plateau State.

Sadly, the 57 year old (Obinna Nwafor a.k.a Saint Obi) died on the 7th day of May, 2023 after battling with an undisclosed ailment.
