Cooking gas, also known as liquefied petroleum gas ( LPG), burns clearly; it’s non-toxic and doesn’t pollute the atmosphere. It is relatively cheap and accessible everywhere in Nigeria.

The Lite Safe LPG Composite Cylinders is a safety-conscious gas cylinder produced by gas cylinder manufacturers to prevent users from explosions and other gas-related accidents.
This particular type of gas cylinder price comes more expensive than the traditional ones, and it’s not yet common, maybe because of the cost as it is sold between ₦45,000 and N55,000.
Although the LPG Composite Cylinder is expensive, it has its benefits which include:

- 3 kg cylinder
This 3kg cylinder is sold for N17,500 and N19,000. Mostly it comes with a burner. It is often re-fill within the range of N900 to N1,200.
- 5 kg cylinder
The cylinder comes in the form of a stove with a stainless steel burner that can serve a domestic purpose.
Without a burner, the 5kg cylinder’s cost is within N18000 and N24000. It costs more with the burner.
Generally, the price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder varies, and it ranges between N 1,800 and N2,000.
- 12.5 kg cylinder
This particular cylinder costs between N20000 and N26000. The 12.5 kg gas cylinder is built with a brass valve and high-quality reinforced metal, making it very strong and durable, thereby preventing leaks.
The cost of refilling a 12.5kg cylinder is between N4000 and N4200.
50 kg cylinder
This is a big cylinder; it is often used for industrial purposes or events. It is sold between N40,000 and ₦60,000.

Apart from the new cylinders and fairly used ones we also have the imported one which comes more expensive than others. A brand new %kg imported cylinder is sold for around ₦35,000, while the used one goes for N12,000.
Also, there is another anti-explosive gas cylinder like the composite cylinder, but only the upper part is anti-explosive, and the 12.5kg size is sold for ₦18,000.
